The ICD has had many great social events over the years, located from the east coast to the west; and Canada to the border of Mexico.
In May 2011 we met at the Allison Inn & Spa, Newberg, Oregon, a luxury destination resort, sits on 35 acres of rolling hills in the heart of Oregon wine country, Steven W. Beadnell, D.M.D. lectured on "Home and Office Medical Emergencie"s, while Frederick (Fritz) T. Fraunfelder, M.D. delivered his remarks on "Prescription for Retirement." Participants also toured the Air Museum, Ken Austin's Car Museum, and one of Oregon's fabulous wineries.
In the Spring of 2010 we went on a 10-day Panama Cruise, with ports-of-call in the Bahamas, Aruba, Curacao, the Panama Canal and Costa Rica. Dr. John P. Gobetti, DDS, MS, FICD, Professor Emeritus from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry presented lectures each of the four days that we were at sea.
In the Spring of 2009 we met in Baltimore, Maryland. Drs. Robert Ord, Robert Taft, Gerald Grant, Christian Stohler, Michael Belenky, and Harold Crosley all presented informative CE programs. Participants toured the National Dental Museum and well as other Washington DC sites.
In 2008, a large gathering met for learning and socialization in sunny Arizona. Two of the four lectures were received from Dr. Michael Glick, Editor of the Journal of the American Dental Association, and Dr. Jack Dillenburg, the Dean of the Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health. Other faculty members joined for an interesting and insightful two-day event. Side trips to Frank Lloyd Wright’s Taliesin West and the Heard Museum were but some of the social activities.
2007 found the CEC visiting Atlanta, Georgia,. Clinicians from the area informed, while opportunities to visit sites of the area beckoned. The after-trip was to Savannah and the Georgia lowlands.
2006 found the USA Section meeting in Halifax, Nova Scotia with the largest attendance in recent years. Excellent speakers were provided by the Dean and Faculty at Dalhousie University. In the afternoon and evenings the group toured the Harbor, Fisherman's Cove and Peggy's Cove. The week long post tour took the group to Cape Breton Island and the Cabot Trail, then westward along the northern shore, and finally to the Bay of Fundy and Digby for Whale Watching.
In 2005, a week long tour of the areas around Minnesota and Wisconsin was enjoyed by those who took advantage of the Post Tour.
In 2004 excursions were in and around Salt Lake City followed by a post meeting trip to Southwest Utah.
In 2003 a cruise to Alaska was offered.
In 2002, the meeting was extended to include an optional trip to Branson, MO.

Continuing Education Conferences are conducted each year, at a different geographical location. These conferences are open to all dentists, and free to all Fellows of the ICD, in good standing. The courses are conducted by nationally recognized Speakers, usually from one of the nearby universities.
The Foundation also provides funds for an annual education program in South America. Through a Trust established in the name of J. Richard Moulton, D.D.S. an Atlanta, Orthodontist, who died in July 2000. Nationally recognized Speakers are funded to provide a continuing education program in Santiago, Chile.
