December 2006 Holiday Greetings From ICD USA Section President Jim Felix Dear Fellows: This is the time of the year to count our blessings... so let's look at that picture. Unfortunately, the world is loaded with problems... Iraq, Iran, North Korea, terrorism, hostility, greed, dishonesty, mental dysfunctions, and anger. Fortunately, the world is loaded with good people that do great things... democracy, charities, religious groups, and the decency of humankind. People take special pride in honesty, sharing, mentoring, leadership, and families. People take pride in being good. Love is a great force in the world-- not a private love but a love of people, of humanity and compassion for the people of the world. I firmly believe that ICD is an institutional symbol of that kind of love of people. Good people like to congregate together and that is where ICD is a part of the answer. We are a focused group of those that care enough in dentistry to be recognizable for conspicuous and meritorious service for humankind. And that is no easy task. But we did it and that is us. When I think about the Holidays, the blessings of the year have special meaning for me. I am extremely thankful for the blessings of my life. When I see the less fortunate, I remember that with a couple of genetic twists, a change in the time of my life, or a different government that I would be in a different position in life. That is a lot of blessings in one sentence and I count my blessings daily. They are a special privilege. I hope that this holiday season has special meaning for you this year. Happy Holidays to you, your families, and your staffs from the ICD. May the wind be at your back in 2007 and may good health be with you and your loved ones. Thank you for being part of the ICD family. Happy Holidays, Previous Issues: Key-Mail archive Find other members at USA section online membership roster Contact the ICD office to change your address:
