COLLEGE AND SECTION TO LOOSEN TIES -
HAWAII HOTEL 2009 ANNUAL MEETING

COLLEGE AND SECTION TO LOOSEN TIES

Hilton Hawaiian VillageFrom the beginning there has been a very close relationship between the USA Section and the ICD College-at-Large. The Secretary General of the College and the Registrar of the USA Section has always been the same person. And, because of this, the physical facility, or Central Office, of the Section has also been the Central Office of the College. That is the way it is now. Retired Brigadier General Robert E. Brady serves as both the Section Registrar and the Secretary General of the College.

But all that is about to change. At the November, 2007 College-at-Large meeting, the officers and international councilors agreed to loosen the ties that have closely bound the Section and College. The Secretary General and the USA Section Registrar will no longer be the same person. The College also wishes to have its own office space, preferably close to the Section office for mutual support.

Dr. Brady is scheduled to retire from his position on December 31, 2009. He will be replaced by two people. Retired Rear Admiral Carol I. Turner of Vienna, Virginia has agreed to serve the Section as our new Registrar. The College plans to replace the Secretary General position with a full-time Central Office Administrator and a part-time Secretary General. They are now in the process of filling these positions.
