Dr. Elo obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Indiana University School of Dentistry. He completed his specialty residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Loma Linda University Medical Center. He obtained a Master of Science from Loma Linda University School of Dentistry with his thesis entitled, "Implant Success in Distracted Versus Autogenous Grafted Sites." In addition to his faculty appointment as Professor in the College of Dental Medicine, Dr. Elo also maintains a faculty appointment within the Department of Oral Maxillofacial Surgery at Loma Linda University Medical Center/School of Dentistry. Dr. Elo maintains active hospital staff appointments at Loma Linda University Medical Center, Loma Linda University Children's Hospital, and Arrowhead Regional Medical Center. His surgical interests include maxillofacial trauma surgery, oral and maxillofacial pathology and reconstruction, preprosthetic bone graft reconstruction, management of complex medical patients, intravenous general anesthesia/sedation, dentoalveolar surgery, dental implants, and corrective jaw surgery.
