The University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry (UICCOD) held their White Coat Ceremony on Friday, August 21, 2015 for the Class of 2019 Dental Students and the Dentists in the International Dental Program Class of 2016.
Dean Clark Sanford began the ceremony with a wonderful presentation about being a dental student, dental education and patient care. Dr. Keith Dickey, ISDS Foundation President; Dr. Edward Segal, ISDS President; Dr. Larry Williams, Illinois AGD President; ACD Illinois Section Editor and ICD District Eight Deputy Regent Dr. Susan Bishop and Dr. Susan Becker-Doroshow, CDS President then gave their congratulations to the students on the commencement of their dental education at the UICCOD.
The program concluded with the presentation of White Coats to the UICCOD Class of Dental Students by the faculty that included Dr. Darryl Pendleton, Associate Dean for Student and Diversity Affairs and Director of the Urban Health Program; Dr. David Clark, Associate Dean for Patient Care and Clinical Education and Dr. Clark Sanford, Dean of the UIC College of Dentistry. The International Dental Program students were cloaked by their Director, Dr. Terry Parsons.
