New Year’s Greeting from the 2018 USA Section President Joseph R. Kenneally

As USA Section President for 2018, I wish all ICD Fellows everywhere a happy, healthy New Year! I hope to meet as many of you as I can this year, during my travels around the United States, as well as on scheduled visits to the European and Canadian Sections.

The USA Section’s Spring Meeting will be held in Portland, Maine, my home state, from May 15-19, 2018. Our Annual Meeting and Convocation will take place in Honolulu, Hawaii, from October 16-19, 2018. If you consider the largest cities in each of the 50 states, these two are the farthest distance from one another, at 5077 miles. Each of these events will have its own local flavor, and each will be presented with a large serving of the ICD’s Core Values of Integrity, Leadership, and Service.

We begin the New Year with a strong team in place at our Section Office, led by our Registrar, Dr. Elaine Wagner, and I anticipate another year of excellent service to our Fellows and those who they serve. Including our Registrar, four of our Section Office staff are Fellows of the ICD. Our outstanding Editor, Dr. H. Clifton Simmons III, leads a strong Communications team, and our print and electronic communications grow and improve yearly. You can find more information on the USA Section website, www.usa-icd.org.

The ICD sponsors many missions, projects and activities in the USA and around the globe, and I encourage you to participate fully and freely. The Worldwide ICD website, www.icd.org, will soon feature an interactive searchable Google map feature that will allow Fellows and others to learn of ICD sponsored humanitarian service opportunities anywhere in the world. Keep an eye out for it.

I also encourage each of you to look for deserving colleagues in your area who would appreciate the honor of Fellowship. Share the Honor!

Thank you all for what you do for our great profession and our beloved College. The College is strengthened by your participation.

In Fellowship,
Joseph R. Kenneally, DMD
President, ICD USA Section
