Join us on Tuesday, October 5, 2021, at 7:00 PM ET for this exciting educational seminar with three of our faculty from the ICD Volunteer Seminar Series!

Dr. Francis Serio will host this live event with presentations by Drs. Jack Levine and Stephen Mackler.

If you are interested in learning more about volunteering, you won't want to miss this seminar!

Description:
One of the major efforts of the ICD-USA Section over the past decade has been to publicize how Fellows and other dental professionals can get involved in international volunteer projects. Maybe you’re aware of an ICD mission project and you’re wondering how you might get involved. Or perhaps you’re thinking about starting up an overseas mission yourself. Tune in to hear Drs. Levine, Mackler, and Serio share tips, advice, and “do’s and don’ts” regarding volunteering outside the United States.

Collectively, these three ICD Fellows have over 100 years of experience delivering dental care internationally. This seminar will outline how they got started in the Dominican Republic, Moldova, and Haiti and how these activities opened up other overseas opportunities.

Admittedly, COVID has made international volunteering challenging, but as most of the world has “hunkered down” during the SARS-2 outbreak, dental needs in many underserved areas around the world have and will continue to skyrocket. This seminar will help prepare you to “Serve Others” internationally.

Learning Objectives:
At the end of this seminar, the participant will be able to:
  • Understand how the three presenters got involved in international projects and how these experiences expanded themselves over time.
  • Appreciate the importance of networking in getting started in international volunteer activities.
  • Identify resources to get started in international volunteer activities.

CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDITS:
This seminar has been approved for 2 hours of continuing dental education credit from the Worldwide ICD's Nationally Approved PACE Program through the Academy of General Dentistry.
