FELLOWSHIP LEVELS

ICD USA Section's "Retired", "Life" and "Disabled" Levels of Fellowship

(Any changes to Fellowship must go through the Section Office.)

Section 2. LIFE RETIRED MEMBERSHIP
The Life Retired Member shall retain the right to hold office and to propose, sponsor, or endorse candidates for Fellowship upon payment of the prescribed fee as established by the Board of Regents [currently $65] plus state dues, if any.

a. Any Active member who has been a Fellow in good standing for at least five (5) years and has retired totally from active practice, research, administration, or teaching of dentistry shall be eligible for Life Retired Membership dues status if they so petition the Section.

Section 3. LIFE MEMBERSHIP
Life Members shall retain the right to hold office and to propose, sponsor, or endorse candidates for Fellowship upon payment of the prescribed fee as established by the Board of Regents [currently $45].

a. Any Active member in good standing, who has been a dues-paying member a minimum of fifteen (15) years, and is seventy (70) years of age or older and has a minimum combination of years of membership and age of eighty-five (85) is eligible for Life Membership and may so petition the Section.

Section 6. LIFE DISABLED MEMBERSHIP
Life Disabled Members are exempt from the payment of dues assessments and shall retain the right to hold office, and to propose, sponsor, or endorse candidates for Fellowship.

a. A Member of the Section who has suffered significant financial hardship because of a permanent or temporary disability may be granted Life Disabled Membership by the Board of Regents.

b. If such Life Disabled Member returns to practice, research, administering or teaching of dentistry, the member shall be reclassified to their previous class of membership upon the member’s notification to the Executive Director of such a change.
