Board of Regents

The governing authority of the USA Section is the Board of Regents (BOR). This body meets twice a year. The Board of Regents is composed of the eight USA Section Officers, the elected Regents from each of the 17 Districts.
  • Officers

  • The Officers of the USA Section shall be President, President-Elect, Vice President, Immediate Past President, Treasurer, Editor, Registrar and Deputy Registrar. The Board of Regents has the sole authority to elect or appoint Officers of the Section and shall do so at the Annual Meeting of the Board. A majority of those members present and voting shall be required.
  • Regents

  • The USA ICD Districts have the same geographical boundaries as the 17 American Dental Association (ADA) Trustee Districts. Each District is governed by an elected Regent and Vice Regent. A District may represent one State or multiple States.

Committees

The day-to-day operation of the USA Section is conducted by the various Standing, Sub and Ad Hoc Committees, working with the Section Office, under the direction of the Executive Committee as stipulated in the Bylaws of the College.

International Councilors

The International Council shall be the governing body of the College. The International Council shall have the authority to make any and all decisions regarding the conduct of the College. Decisions and actions of the International Council shall not be in conflict with the Constitution or the Bylaws of the College. The International Council shall be structured in accordance with Article III, Section 1, of the College By-laws, (see http://www.icd.org/ ). The USA Section is represented by eight International Councilors plus at least one person in the Officer chain.

Section Office

The day-to-day business and affairs of the USA Section shall be conducted from a facility, which shall be referred to as the "Section Office", or the "Office of the College", or "Office". The International Council and the Board of Regents shall establish the location for the College Office. The College Office and all personnel employed therein shall be under the direct supervision of the Registrar.
