OPERATION STAND DOWN

ICD USA Section Endorses this Project

Fellow Dr. Daniel Fridh (Regent of District 7) noticed a trend of neglected mouths among his ex-military patients, he knew something had to be done.
A former military man himself who served in the Air Force for three years, and even conducted his dental residency there, he understood what military men and women went through.
In 2012 Dr. Fridh helped launch Operation Stand Down. This program was designed to offer veterans a free dental examination and free or reduced followup services. The initial program involved the participation of 22 volunteer dentists, and served 90 veterans for a total of $150,000 worth of services. It received significant support from the La Port Hospital Foundation. Dr. Fridh is now encouraging other dentists to offer this program in their areas and has compiled a start-up manual offered below with sample documents and forms.
